We offer a service contract for all brands of central air systems out there.
Our certified technicians will come out once or twice a year (depending on the program you desire) for the next 2 to 10 years. With Maintenance Assurance Plans (MAPs), there are great advantages, like...
- Free Coil Cleaning every year (Coils are like the radiator for your car - the cleaner they are, the cooler you are).
- No Destination Charge for us to show up (save about $60 right off the bat).
- A Guaranteed Arrival Time within 24 hours of receiving your call, or the labor is free, no matter how busy we are.
- 20% Off of Parts and Labor (If you need parts and/or work, and all systems do, you get them at a reduced price)
- Lifetime Warranty on most user-end parts for the duration of the contract. So if we put in a relay and it dies, we'll replace it for free.
- 10% off the price of a new unit. (The desert is very hard on systems, and depending on how well it's maintained, chances are, you will need a new one every 8-12 years.)
- You get priority on a service technician's route because you are the part of what makes us so great.
Which Contract is best for me?
- If you have a standard air conditioner with electrical heating (heat strips), we recommend once a year, usually in the spring before you go to start it up for the first time, but usually between February and April before everybody wants theirs done. The anniversary of your Plan can actually be in any month convenient for you, especially if you don't arrive until late fall or early winter.
- If you have a standard air conditioner with a gas furnace, we recommend twice a year. Usually in the early spring for the air conditioner, and then in the early to late fall for the heating. Before you begin using it for the first time, call us about the furnace. We will turn on your gas / ignite the pilot, and make sure the system is working properly. All of our technicians carry meters to measure carbon monoxide to ensure your system is venting outside.
- If you have a heat pump, we recommend twice a year, just because it is doing dual duty. It runs in one mode to cool you off in the hot summer, and in another mode to warm you up when the thermometer is falling. If yours has a "gas pack" on it (secondary furnace for very cold days), this will obviously be very beneficial to you since we'll handle the gas valve and pilot light ignition sequence for you. Just call us and let us know when you want us over and we'll put you on our schedule.
- If you have a newer, Puron System, depending on what the manufacturer recommends, early on in its life, say once a year is usually sufficient. Puron systems are "Engineered" to be energy efficient with strict guidelines, so a minor fluxuation in refrigerant level can also cause it act up. In other words, it doesn't seem to be cooling just right, not like when you first got it. So if you know your system is tempermental, twice a year might be better. In the words of another commercial, "Cost for Piece of Mind? Priceless."
- If you are one of our many winter visitors, you should always have it checked out just before you use it, or at least as soon as possible after you get here. Systems that have been sitting idle for a couple months or more may have slow leaks, and in any case, you just want to be sure the most expensive piece of equipment in your home is going to operate safely and efficiently, especially when you come here to enjoy "not being in the snow".
- If you have a business outside of your home, with light to moderate usage, you should consider the Bi-Annual Maintenance Assurance Plan. We will come out twice a year and do a full system check for you and identify any problems you may have before your unit goes down. We also take care of your air fitlers at this time, clean the electrostatic or washable filters, or we'll put in your replaceable ones for you while we are there.
- If you have a business outside of your home, with moderate to heavy usage, you should consider the Quarterly Maintenance Assurance Plan. We will come out four times a year, and do a full system check for you, and depending on your filters, clean the electrostatic or washable filters, or replace the throw-away type for you while we are there.
- If you have a business outside of your home with heavy usage, the Monthly Maintenance Assurance Plan could be just what you need. We will service the Air Conditioner Quarterly, plus will clean the electrostatic or washable filters monthly, or replace the throw-away type for you while we are there.
We can tailor a plan to fit your needs and your budget. If you have evaporative coolers for those times of the year when they work, the add-on cost is less than for an additional air conditioner. We have many customers with both and are more than happy to include them in the Maintenance Assurance Plan. We ask that you provide any pads you may want changed, as they can cost upwards of $200.00 for some models. Details and extras and special requirements will be worked out with our service managers and well documented. If you require a company to handle everything so you can spend your time enjoying life, or running your business, we can tailor a plan for that as well. Any benefit and entitlement will be in writing, and we will stand behind it.
Things to remember
Think of your Air Conditioner like a car. You don't drive your car until it breaks down before taking it to a shop. You get the oil changed regularly. You have your brakes inspected. You have your spark plugs and wires checked. You lubricate the parts that need it, and you even go so far as to wash off the bugs from the windshield. This is the standard preventive maintenance that will keep your car running a lot longer between visits to the shop. If the car is new, and you fail to do the oil changes, and it breaks down, the company that issued your warranty will thank you for your business and suggest you buy a new car. Other than that, their legal liability is zero. They provided you with an insurance plan and you did not take advantage of it.
Home Warranty Companies require you to have the routine maintenance performed on your air conditioning and heating systems by qualified representatives. It's fine if you have a family member or friend that can do this for you, but how can you prove it was done? You get an invoice with everything we did, saw and recommended. We never make you buy anything you don't want to. We do not do work without your permission. And if we see something that could hurt your unit, we will write it down, and if you don't want us to do it, we ask you to sign that you did not want us to do it. That is how serious preventive maintenance is. Failure to do so may void and nullify the warranty. This includes not changing your filters so your coils become coated so badly the unit burns itself out prematurely. Any system that runs out of Freon / Puron will fail to cool and will also burn itself out prematurely. Refrigerants have several functions, one of them being lubrication. Remember, most manufacturers recommend once a year, for a home system, and the frequency should increase with the number of people using it, as well as the age of your system. If you have a 6 to 10 year old system, it might not be ready for replacing, but taking care of it twice a year will help it last longer, and when it is time to buy, you do get a 10% discount. Also, you might need repair work a little more often than normal, and saving 20% on parts and labor is a benefit. Also, if was a part we put in, like a contactor, or a relay, it is warrantied by us, so you get a new one for free. Of course we don't give free replacements for compressors, reversing valves, coils or new units for obvious reasons, but the others are covered and you won't have to go through a home warranty company for that.
